Is grey, slimy dog poop normal after diarrhea and chicken/rice?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Male | unneutered | 6 months and 3 days old

My dog was having diahorrea so I started giving him chicken and rice a few days ago and today he had a normal poo but it was a greyish colour and had slime on it like a cover? It was sort of clear and I read that it is sometimes normal? I was just wondering if it is normal for his poo to be darker and have this slime after having loose poo for a few days? He's perfectly fine and isn't sick

Hello. If Ziggy's feces has otherwise become normal then a bit of slime can be normal. I would just continue to monitor and if the slime continues for more than a week then getting a fecal sample checked might be a good idea. Best of luck!
