Hello and welcome to Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. That bulge could be a number of things. It could be an infection that is about to rupture. It could also be a cyst. I would also be worried as well about a possible cancerous mass. The only way to tell for sure is to take a sample and look at it under the microscope. I would recommend having your little kitty to the vet to have the the mass looked at and a sample taken to determine what it is. Best of luck with your little one!
