My dog has a cold. Can a warm bath help with his congestion?

Hi, my dog has a bad cold/sinus infection. Can I give him a warm bath? Can I fill the bath with water?

I'm sorry to hear that Beau isn't feeling well. You can certainly give him a warm (but not hot!) bath in a water-filled tub if you'd like, but I doubt that the bath will make a significant difference in his congestion. Instead, try taking him into the bathroom for 10-15 minutes when the room itself is hot and steamy since this can help to temporarily relieve some congestion. Also be sure to keep his nostrils clear of any discharge by wiping regularly with a soft, damp cloth. If his congestion continues for more than a few days, he experiences a loss of appetite or lethargy, or if Beau develops yellow or green nasal or ocular discharge, he should go to his vet for evaluation. I hope that he feels better soon!
