My dog has a lump near her nipple. Should I see a vet before our trip?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Brittany | Female | spayed | 28 lbs

My Brittany Spaniel of 3 years old has developed a fluid like lump around her teet which is slightly enlarged also. She does not react to it being felt and squeezed but I am concerned. We are going on holiday with her tomorrow should we just keep it under observation or contact a vet located where we are holidaying ? Many thanks

I would continue to monitor is for any sudden changes. It should definitely get checked out by a vet in the next few days. Possible causes for this include mammary tumors, tumors not related to the mammary system, infection, or mammary hyperplasia. If it gets suddenly bigger or there is any discharge, I would see a vet sooner.
