Do budgies prefer egg food cold from the fridge or room temperature?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Bird | Unknown - Bird | Male | unneutered

I made an egg food recipe for my budgies. Is it okay to give it to them right out of the refrigerator or should i let it warm up first?

It should be fine to give them the food right out of the fridge but they may be more willing to eat it if it's room temperature. Just don't microwave it because that could make portions of it too hot and potentially dangerous for the bird. I would try offering the food both cold and room temp and see which your bird prefers. Either should be safe. Hope this helps. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
