my tom cat got in to a fight and both of his front due claws have been tore off will they grow back what do i need to do. Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Male | unneutered | 4 years and 7 months old | 6 lbs

Sorry to hear about Blackey. If it is just the nail that was torn, then they will grow back just fine overtime. If the actual dewclaw itself was torn, then they will not regrow. I would strongly recommend having the area looked at to see if they were ripped cleanly or if there is any bone currently exposed beyond the bed of the nail. If there is any active bleeding, a pressure bandage will likely be needed or in some cases sutures. Antibiotics, pain medications, and anti inflammatory medication will also likely be helpful in the treatment and recovery of your kitty. Hope this helps.
