My dog is very tired on Cefixime. Is this normal? Should I see another vet?

Hi My boy has a cold and i give him 200 mg cefixime once in a day on his vet order, but he is too tired and sleeps a lot , is this normal? Should i see a new vet? Additional information : he is 7 kg , and he is 1 year and two month old. Pet's info: Dog | Dachshund | Male | unneutered | 12 lbs

The dosage of this antibiotic can usually go up to 10mg/kg (sometimes higher) but for sure not 30mg/kg as you vet directed. Also the antibiotic should be given twice daily (every 12 hours) to be fully effective. Having said that, I would recommend the extreme lethargy is not normal and I would recommend to see a new vet.
