Sticky residue on dog's fur won't wash off. How to remove it?

Question

My dog had very sticky leaves on him today that left over a strong sticky residue that didn't come off with a bath. Any idea how I can get it out of his hair? Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Male | neutered | 8 months and 19 days old | 57 lbs

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I would try brushing his coat with a long bristled comb or brush to get the residue off. If that doesn't work I would try a cool water bath with Dawn dish soap. Good luck and kisses to Marahall!
