Due to an emergency, my dog went 15 hours in between being taken out to urinate etc. What are the possible consequences of this?

Bladder can overstretch and loose its ability to contract again; this is unlikely if there are no urinary problems underlying (obstruction, lack of innervation of the bladder and so on). I would just monitor his urination for the next 48 hours and if everything seems normal I would not be worried about it.
