Why is my bunny's neck skin red and irritated? Is it an emergency?

Pet's info: Small Animal | Rabbit | Male | neutered

I am very worried about my bunny. What is this? Its under his neck area .He had this but it was just pink like his skin color now it got worst it's really red looks like irritated. Should i be rushing him to emergency?!

Hello there! A red, irritated skin lesion is probably not an emergency unless Fluffy is lethargic or otherwise acting ill. I do recommend that he visits a vet to have it evaluated, as it may be a skin infection. This is a common location for dermatitis (skin inflammation and infection) as it is a warm fold that, if it encounters moisture, can be a breeding ground for microorganisms. The vet may take a small sample of skin cells to look at under the microscope, which will help determine how to treat his skin. In the meantime, keep the area clean and dry.     I don't think you need to do anything unless it is bothering him (like he is scratching it). Just monitor it and if it worsens or starts to bother him then I think you should get him to your vet for an exam. If you want to re-post with some photos we may be able to help you more. Best wishes!
