My dog is snorting and hacking. What's wrong and can I treat it at home?

My Pom York mix is snorting and hacking started Monday,she is not doing it all the time what could be wrong and can I treat her at home

Angel may be suffering from allergies or may have a respiratory tract infection. If it is allergies you could try giving her an antihistamine daily to see if that helps. (You would need to call your vet's office to get a recommendation on an antihistamine and dose for Angel). If Angel has a respiratory infection she will probably need antibiotics to help it clear up. Respiratory infections usually have coughing/sneezing accompanied by nasal discharge and sometimes a fever. Since Angel's symptoms are only occurring sporadically you should be ok to just keep an eye on her for now. If the symptoms become more consistent, she develops any of the signs mentioned above, or if she stops eating, drinking, or playing, I would take her in to your vet to be checked out.
