Why is my dove suddenly sick with lumps, poor balance, and lethargy?

So I have a mix brown and white dove, approximately 6-8 years of age, was always beautiful, the nicest cleanest feathers around, recently around the same time my dove got ill(pulled his feathers/flesh out to the point of putting him down, this little brown guy, grew two lumps under each eye, in front of the ear, and mre recently lost a lot of balance, has a hard time perching, and walking, sings but not with the full notes, more of just a whoooooo, sleeps a lot, and doesn't have much energy, he. Pet's info: Bird | Unknown - Bird | Male | unneutered | 9 years and 7 months old | 1lb
