Pet's info: Dog | Cavalier King Charles Spaniel | Female | spayed | 7 years and 3 months old | 22 lbs
My dog has red gums. She's a 7 year old King Charles, I get her teeth cleaned she's getting ready to go. I was wondering if I could give her 500 mg of cephalexin for dogs?

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I would not advise giving any medications until she sees a vet. Red gums does not warrant an antibiotic and that would be way too much for her anyway. Continue to brush her teeth daily with a dog toothpaste product until and after her dental cleaning. Kisses to Bella!
