Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Male | unneutered | 5 lbs
Hi! We have an almost 1 year old male cat. About 2 days ago he started presenting signs of not eating - you can feel his bones and spine and he takes a few steps and lays down. I have switched his food out and he will not touch it. I don't believe he is drinking either. No signs of fever - although I don't have a thermometer, but no red gums or hot ears. No gurgling sounds in chest. Whites of eyes are very dark yellow. We are worried.

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I am so sorry Princey is sick! I would get him to your Vet tomorrow. Bring a stool sample. Possible causes for weight loss and not eating in a young cat are: foreign body, intestinal parasites, feline leukemia, FIP (feline infectious peritonitis), toxin ingestion, or even cancer. Your Vet may do blood work, feline leukemia test and X-rays. The tests will be based on their physical. I wish you and Princey the best of luck and I hope he gets better soon!
