Why is my cat lethargic, not eating, and breathing heavy on Onsior?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Mediumhair | Female | unspayed | 3 months old | 3.9 lbs

Mia was found as an orphaned kitty with a severe femur break in her right leg. She had surgery to pin it, and has been on half a tablet of Onsior for three days before her surgery and three days after. She's been sleeping pretty much all day, her appetite has been waning, and her breathing increases at random. She's also far more vocal with me. Does she need to be hospitalized and/or is this a side effect of Onsior?

This is not a typical side effect to onsior. I would have her reassessed to see if she might require additional pain management or if there is an infection currently brewing that needs addressing. If the breathing actually becomes labored or distressed, have her checked immediately. Hope this helps.
