Hello, I just noticed my cat has some sort of leakage or wound on the side of her head on her neck. It's light red and looks like a wound of somesort but she's not bleeding. What is this and should I be really concerned?

Hi there! Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! It is hard to know without being able to evaluate Fiona. However, it is likely to represent an abscess or some type of traumatic injury or laceration. For both cases, it would be advised to have her evaluated by your veterinarian as both would require local wound management as well as antibiotics. If it is a laceration then stitches may also be recommended. I recommend that you Fiona evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment of this wound and to start her on the most appropriate therapy based on the findings. Good luck!
