Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! To treat diarrhea I recommend fast Otis for 12-24 hours. Do not limit water unless vomiting. Then restart feeding as a bland diet of boiled chicken or hamburger with rice. Feed 1 cup per day until 2 days of normal stools. If the diarrhea doesn't improve he should be seen by your Vet. As for the bleeding butt-I would need more information. If you mean there is blood in the stool then the above may help. But if there is blood in the stool Otis ideally needs antibiotics which you can get from your Vet. If there is a wound on his butt or near his butt then he needs to see a Vet. I hope this helps

There can be many causes for blood in diarrhea or stools, including food intolerance, food allergies, intestinal parasites, dietary indiscretion, bacterial or viral infection, hemorrhagic gastroenteritis, stress colitis, autoimmune disease, systemic disease (liver, pancreas), toxic exposure, bleeding/clotting disorders, cancer, rectal polyps, among others. I would recommend that Ricky be evaluated by a vet for diagnosis and appropriate treatment. Some of these possible illnesses can get worse very quickly and can become life-threatening.
