Senior dog post-dental surgery: Recovery time & appetite tips?

Pet's info: Dog | Shih Tzu | Female | spayed | 10 lbs

Our maltida who is 10yrs old had 8 teeth pulled it will be a week tomorrow,and she still has a cough fr the tube in her throat but it is getting better,our vet is doing a bti or a Tti on her blood,what kind of test is that?also we have to start to give her b12 shots,she is eating a little bit everyday,when will she started to feel better and start being her self?our vet is going to give us pills so she will eat more,any suggestions will give us a piece on mind.pls help.

I am not familiar with bti or tti testing. Are you sure you have that abbreviation correct? Can you call your vet to clarify? There is no way for me to tell you when she will get back to her old self. That would be impossible for me to do via the internet. Your vet should be able to give you more of an idea. Dogs are just like people and some take longer to recover from procedures than others. A week post operatively is really not that long especially from major dental work. It sounds like you are doing everything you can to help her. Is she getting enough pain medication? Can you post again and tell us what medications she is on? That would be more helpful. Also, what are you feeding her?
