My dog hasnt been eatin her food for about the last couple of days,ive tried everything and dont know what to do,also when she is sleeping she is leakin and i cant afford to take her to the vet! Help. Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | spayed | 12 years and 4 months old

Hello and thank you for using Pet Coach to post your concern about Dakota! Dakota is an old lady and I am sorry to hear she is not feeling well. The leaking while she is sleeping sounds like this could be urethral sphincter mechanism incompetence and is quite common in older spayed female dogs. There is medication for this, otherwise you can use the washable dog diapers to prevent her leaking urine everywhere. If she hasn't been eating I would really urge you to get to your vet if possible. If finances are a bit of a concern, you can try and apply for Care Credit online and use that for veterinary expenses. This way you can get Dakota seen right away. You can try and entice her by offering a variety of canned foods and make chicken / ground beef for now until you know more what is going on. I would contact your vet to schedule an appointment soon!
