Pet's info: Dog | Lhasa Apso | Male | unneutered | 4 years and 11 months old | 18 lbs
My dog has just returned home after a overnight stay at my local vets, he had a bout of gastro enteritis and looked like he was dehydrated. He had a IV drip to ensure he was okay, he came home with red eyes, but there was no sign of red eyes before he went to the vets is this normal.. Thanks Davi Dinsdale

I would not say that him having red eyes is ever normal. However if he is really hyper and has been barking at the vet/ pulling on his leash at home he might have red eyes. However if he is having a mild allergy or has a mild upper respiratory infection I would be more concerned. I would recommend taking him back to the vet so they can check them out well and help determine the cause. Also, i bet the vet would like to know that sam eyes are not normal since he left

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Sam, he has been through a lot! Some dogs, when hospitalized, never sleep when they are there and bark and are anxious. Sam could have been awake and stressed for his overnight at the vet. I would give him 24-48 hours to see if the redness subsides as long as the eyes appear comfortable (not keeping them closed, not rubbing them, no discharge, no squinting). I hope he has a speedy recovery!
