Will Nexgard flea & tick medicine protect my dog from bed bugs?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | spayed | 30 lbs

Will my dogs flea and tick nexgaurd pill prevent against bed bugs? Just discovered this disgusting parasite issue today. Gave her the pill almost a week ago.

Hi and thanks for you question. Nexgard is indicated for the treatment and prevention of fleas and 4 major types of ticks, but not bed bugs. Sorry you are having an issue with bed bugs- they have been making a come back lately! You may want to call your local pest control and they will be able to help you get rid of them.     It is vital to treat all in contact pets and spray all bedding areas with an insecticidal household flea spray to kill eggs and larvae. Nexguard would be a great choice but check with your vet first that they have not already treated Betty for fleas and double dosing her would not be required
