Puppy shivering and vomiting after first vaccine shot, what to do?

My lhasa had her first shot today after few hours she is shivering n vomited once, what should I do?

I would continue to monitor Cookie for now. You can see some mild vomiting and a fever (which would cause the shivering but so could pain from the injection), but if the vomiting continues, then you need to take her back into the vet immediately. I hope this helps!

Hello. Typical reasons that a young puppy would be vomiting are intestinal parasites, a gastrointestinal viral or vacterial infection or from eating inappropriate things. Side effects of a vaccination are typically a mild fever and soreness at the injection site. I would strongly recommend that your puppy be examined by a veterinarian ASAP to check for parasites or infections. Puppies this young can get dehydrated and much sicker in a very short amount of time if the problem is not addressed right away.

I gave my puppy a parvo shot yesterday and today she woke up vomiting its nothing excessive but i just want to make sure if thats normal she also went potty on her crate and she hasn’t had an accident till I brought her home maybe her stomach was fee
Vomiting after a vaccination is not normal and is a sign of a potentially severe vaccine reaction. It sounds like the vomiting did not occur right after the vaccination, so it may not be related to the vaccination, but vomiting is not considered a normal vaccine reaction. Hi. Noushi was vaccined tonight & I just noticed that she is shivering. It goes on & off. Should I be worried ? Is there anything I can do. Since it's 11pm & I don't have access to her vet.
You mentioned in a previous question that Noushi was limping, so the shivering could be from pain or it could be a fever. You can see a slight fever after getting vaccines, but that should go away. I'd keep her indoors, keep her warm and quiet, and rest her. If she is still acting this way in the morning, then get her checked out by a vet. Best of luck!

My puppy started throwing up and shaking after I gave her firstshield trio singles dose. I gave her yogurt and bathed her. I don’t have access to a vet hospital right now. What can I do at home to help her?
Thanks for using Boop by Petco! If there is no further vomiting then she should be ok as this may be an isolated episode. However, if this continues, she should be evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. In the meantime, you may feed her a bland diet composed of boiled chicken breast and white rice which help with an upset stomach. Good luck and have a great day!

My 2 y/o pug, Dixie, just vomited. Now she is lying on the bed shivering like she's cold, but it's not cold in here. She's drinking water just fine and is not lethargic, but I've never seen her shiver like this. She's also started quietly whining. Wh
She is probably shivering because her body is trying to adjust after losing so much food and fluid when she vomited. Try to keep her calm and comfortable for now. You may want to see if she needs to get up and walk outside. If her abnormal behavior continues for more than a few hours you should consider taking her to be examined by the vet. I hope this helps. My puppy threw up white foam 1 time, & then two more times but it was an off white/almost yellowish colored foam. She had an appetite a few hours after. Slept most of the day. But she has been shivering off and on, and has been moving around all day
I would recommend taking her to a veterinarian. I am concerned she is shaking after episodes of vomiting. You can take her temperature at home. Normal for a dog is 99-102.5. Unfortunately many things can cause vomiting like indigestion, foreign material, infections, pyometra, toxins and foreign objects. Since she is not feeling well a vet visit will help break down what is going on for proper treatment.

Just got my 4 month old puppy her 3rd round of shots. She has been shaking for hours. Nothing crazy, but shaking. I gave her a bath this morning before her shots. I need to know what I should do? Any home care I can give her?
Getting vaccines can be stressful to the puppy and can cause some pain. This should pass in 24-48 hours. You can try putting a cold compress where she received her shots to see if that helps. Apply it for 5-10 minutes at a time a couple of times during the day. Otherwise keep her warm and comfortable, and make sure she is eating and drinking. If the shaking doesn't away in 48 hours, or she develops other signs such as vomiting, diarrhea, facial swelling, and/or difficulty breathing, take her into a vet. Best of luck, I hope this helps.

I've been seeing my puppy trembling sometimes. It isn't from her being cold or scared. She's also vomited up to 6 times in the 2 month I've had her. I didn't know if i should just take her to the vet. She just vomited a minute ago.
I agree with your concerns. This is not normal for a puppy, and I would highly encourage you to have her evaluated by a veterinarian. Small puppies can have problems regulating their blood glucose levels and that may cause the trembling and nausea. Try to give her a snack every 3-4 hours if possible. Also, deworming and vaccinations are important at this age as well. Your veterinarian will complete a good physical examination on her and let you know if they have any other concerns. My shih tzu puppy got 5 in 1 vaccine, after 3 days, he vomitted and now is the 2nd day he is vomitting. He is vomitting what he eats. He does not have diarrhea and is not lethargic. What will i do?
It is a vaccination reaction if they are excessively vomiting. So if he vomited once or twice I just have people watch them. If you are concerned because it has been more then that I would recommend calling your veterinarian so they can treat him. My puppy got her first 5 shots on july 14 2017. I noticed she has diahrea and also there is mucus in it she also vomited yesterday morning once and it was the food she had ate. Is ihat normal? What should i do?
Vomiting and diarrhea within a couple days of vaccinations is a sign of a vaccine reaciton. I would notify your vet about Addi's symptoms right away and then have her seen for medicaitons to stop the reaction. Also her record should now reflect hat she has a vaccine allergy and premedication can be given at her next round of shots to hopefully stop this from happening in the future. I hope she feels better soon. Take care.
