My dog is grieving and won't eat after losing his friend. Help!

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | 9 years and 1 month old | 15 lbs

I m having to dogs 1 male and 1 female bt unfortunately I lost her after pyometra operations, Now the other dog is not eating food,felling bad what can I do for him.?is there any medicine or anything elso.

I am sorry about your loss. I would recommend trying to make sure that taffy is eating by proving boiled chicken and white rice. A bland diet sometimes is easier to digest but also will stimulate appetite. It is also a good idea to take Taffy to the vet to make sure he is healthy. Taffy is 9 years old so it would be great for him to have a good check up. Some dogs do grieve after a loss but most of the time after a little while they will start eating and feeling better.

    First off, I'm so sorry your other dog passed away. Please accept my condolences for your loss. While dogs do mourn the loss of a companion, they usually do not stop eating. Try offering Loki some boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice. If she refuses to eat that, I would have her seen by a vet.
