My guinea pig has URI symptoms. What home care can I provide?

Hello, I've just looked up a few symptoms of URI because my guinea pig has been sneezing and having eyes and nose discharge. I cannot bring him to the vet at the moment but is there anything I can do at home to prevent it from getting worse if he does have URI?

Unfortunately if Carby has a URI, and it does sound like it from your description, then he will need antibiotic treatment in order to get better. it's important for him to be stress free and eat a good quality food as it can improve his immune reaction to the infection, but this does not replace antibiotics, which you can only get from the vet.

I'm afraid it is absolutely necessary to take him to the vet, this is indeed probably an URI and it will require antibiotic treatment, without it he might not get better and this might turn into a life threatening infection.
