Is my kitten dreaming or seizing? Twitches, open mouth, head back.

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 5 lbs

My kitten twitches a lot in her sleep and when she woke up today I noticed her mouth was open and her head was back a little. It was only for a few seconds at most. What is this? And what could be causing it?

She could be dreaming, as simple as that. That said, she could have had a seizure. Monitor Mae closely for a few hour.. if you are still concerned, do not hesitate to take her to your veterinarian for an exam. What a beautiful kitty!
