My epileptic dog is weak and drooling on phenobarbital. Is it normal?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 1 year and 4 months old | 4 lbs

my little dog has been diagnosed with epilepsy on thurday she has been taking the phenobarbital twice a day since thursday and has been pacing and i have been hand feeding her but today she is just laying and drooling she can't stand very good does this mean she is going to die that the medicine isnt' working?

It could be a very bad side effect of the phenobarbital, it is a strong medication that tends to cause severe side effects, especially if given at a loading dose in the beginning. you should contact your vet immediately in order to discuss possibly changing the dosage.
