Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua | Male | unneutered | 2 years and 1 month old | 7 lbs
My dog has a large red thing in his eye. It looks like a red worm. Both eyes are irritated. I'm concerned.

This looks like a big vein, could be due to an eye infection. it could also be an eye worm but this is very rare and unlikely. you need to take KY to the vet ASAP in order to get it checked and treated, he will probably need antibiotic eye drops.

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! This could be due to an eye injury or conditions such as a corneal laceration, corneal ulcer, conjunctivitis, dry eye (also known as KCS), among many other conditions. I highly recommend that you have Shiny evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Further therapy would be based on the findings. Good luck and best wishes!
