Labrador itching & hair loss persists. What's the underlying cause?

Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Female | unspayed | 4 years and 8 months old | 55 lbs

My Labrador has been suffering from itching and hair loss since a few months . She has been given anti bacterial and anti fungal oral medications and anti tick and anti parasite powder locally also micanazole shampoo . All these has given only temperory relief and the itching comes back as worse as before, the hair loss is also persisting . Hair loss is more severe over the face,ears, legs and abdomen . Itching is severe around the neck. Please advise!

Milo needs to see a veterinary dermatologist or internal medicine specialist and have allergy testing done. You need to know what the underlying cause of the allergy is to properly treat it. All that has been done so far is treating the clinical signs, no the underlying problem. Speak to your vet about this. It is very easy and inexpensive to treat even if you are only going by a presumptive diagnosis. I hope this helps. Best wishes.
