Pet's info: Dog | Shih Tzu | Female | spayed | 2 years and 11 months old | 11 lbs
My dog has been having increased frequency and urinating small amounts. She is a 3 year old shih tzu with no health problems. She's been prescribed clovamax and cirpoflaxcin, neither of which have helped. Vet didn't feel anything when he massaged her belly and the urinalysis revealed tiny crystals present. Any ideas what's going on?

Hello there and thank you for your post! It sounds like two courses of antibiotics did not fix the problem. It does not sound like a urinary tract infection. However, this could be an infection that is resistant to the previous two antibiotics that were used. What I would suggest as the next diagnostic step would be to culture the urine and take abdominal x-rays. the culture to determine if there is a bacteria resistant to the previous two antibiotics that were used the x-rays to determine if there are any bladder stones present that may be causing this unresolving urinary problem. I hope this helps! Please contact me if you have any other questions or concerns. I am also available via consultation if needed.
