My dog has a foot spot. Should I cover it or watch it for a few days?

Pet's info: Dog | Great Dane | Female | spayed | 8 months and 3 days old | 66 lbs

Luna 8 month old great dane has a spot in her back right foot. just noticed today. we had some antiseptic spray that we sprayed on it. should it be covered up? she is on metronidazole already for diahrea, so im hoping we can just keep an eye on it for a few days right? or should we take her in right away? thank u in advance

You did the right thing using the antiseptic spray. I prefer to leave it uncovered so you don't trap moisture in or have an issue with a bandage. It is important to stop Luna from licking it as that will slow the healing and cause irritation. If you need to you can use a restraint collar on her to stop the licking. It's fine to monitor it at home for a few days as it will most likely heal without additional treatment. If it worsens, or more spots develop then I would bring her in for an exam and additional treatment as recommended.
