Why are my Persian cat's paws turning brown? Should I be worried?

my cat is a pure persian cat but his paws are brownish what might be the problem

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I think Zeus's paws are reddish brown from grooming his face. Persians tend to produce a lot of tears that are also reddish brown in color. There is a pigment in the tears and also in their saliva that can cause staining of the fur. If he has excessive tears from his eyes I would have your Vet check him out to make sure there isn't an infection or blocked tear duct. But in my experience with Persians is that it is common in their breed. I hope this helps!
