Cat congested, sneezing, matted eyes, but acts fine. What's wrong?

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Male | unneutered | 4 months and 7 days old | 10 lbs

my cat is getting sick. he’s really congested, he sneezes a lot, and his eyes are all matted, but he acts like he feels fine. he plays with my other cat like there’s nothing wrong. everyday, i’ll clean his eyes and nose with warm water but it doesn’t seem to help. it gets worse. how do i help him?

I'm sorry to hear that Maverick is not feeling well. It sounds like he probably has an upper respiratory infection. If he is still eating and playful, that's a good sign. I would make sure to keep his eyes and nose clean with a warm moist wash rag. You could put a humidifier in the room where he spends his time or put him in the bathroom while someone is taking a shower. The humidity will help his nose continue to drain. If you see he loses his appetite, is having a hard time breathing or he starts squinting his eyes, then I recommend taking him to a veterinarian.
