Hello, I am sorry to hear about Zeus. Most of these instances of a pet eating uncooked meat one time do not result in illness unless the meat was spoiled. In rare cases the meat is contaminated with bacteria such as salmonella or e. coli which can cause illness. I would recommend monitoring Zeus for signs of illness including vomiting, diarrhea, decreased appetite, and lethargy. If these signs occur he should see a veterinarian because he may need treatment with antibiotics, but hopefully Zeus will be just fine!

Hi! Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Zeus is likely going to be just fine. Monitor him closely for any evidence of gastrointestinal upset such as decreased appetite, vomiting and/or diarrhea. If any of those are seen, have Zeus evaluated by your veterinarian. Good luck!
