Can the flu be a cause of diarrhea in my puppy? We are still trying to figure out what's going on because her X-rays/tests have been clear. She's fine when she's on metronidazole. But we've noticed she's wheezy sometimes as she barks. Her stool has had mucus. My mom says she sometimes hears her gurgle in her sleep. She eats/drinks/plays just fine. Just can't seem to get rid of the loose stool. She's also been sneezing more than usual. She's on a bland diet to help her stomach. vet visit tmrrw.

The flu can have mild GI signs but usually they have fevers, decreased appetite and lots of coughing and snotty noses with congestion. Distemper virus can cause Gi and respiratory sogns and profess to neurological disease. If chronic diarrhea is the main problem they can do dewormer just to make sure and test the pancreas function with a blood test. There is also a theist swab that can test for severe respiratory components to make sure it is nothing serious.
