That is may be due to arthrosis/arthritis and should be ideally confirmed with a check up at your local veterinarian. Physiotherapy with passive range of motion movement is possibly the only thing you can do back home especially in the morning or after long period of sleep. This video will show you how to do it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9dcYVODa2RQ Please do not hesitate to contact us again on the forum or by requesting a consultation if you have any more questions or to discuss it any further.

It sounds like he has arthritis pain in his hind legs. This could be in his hips, lower spine and/or knees. The best thing you can do at home is to get him down to a lean weight. If he is 80lbs, then he's probably overweight and should be on a diet. Joint supplements like Cosequin can help, but are not expected to make a big difference. The best thing you can do is take him to the vet. They can properly evaluate him and put him on medication that will make him feel much better. They can also further advise on diet. I hope that helps and d.o.g feels better.
