How to trim a 1-year-old cat's nails? Is it really necessary?

How to clip a cat's claws? The cat is one year old. Do I need to do this?

Hi and thanks for your question! You may buy nail small clippers found at your local pet supplies store to trim your cat's nails. If your cat is indoors, you may need to trim the nails every 8 weeks or so. You may ask your veterinarian to show you the proper way to do this. Outdoor cats do not need their nails trimmed very often is at all. Being outside and walking on ground and pavement helps to trim them down on their own. Alternatively, having cat scratch posts around your home if your cat is an indoor cat, can help to trim down their nails naturally. I hope this has helped!

    Hello, if Offa has a way to file down his nails, such as a scratch patch, and if his nails are not growing so much that they are becoming in-grown then his may not need a nail trim. However, if Offa's nails are getting to long then I would clip them as he may be at risk for getting ingrown nails or broken toe nails which are both very painful. Hope this helps
