How much food for my German Spitz with low exercise after weight loss?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | German Spitz | Male | neutered | 7 years and 6 months old | 25 lbs

Hi, I have a 7-8 year old, neutered, German Spitz Mittel. Because of my Mobility problems, he gets very little or no exercise. I am feeding him Natures Menu cans, and their recommended feeding amount is 423 gms/day, but my vet says 150 gms/day. On the vet amount I have got his weight down from 33.7 Kg to 10-11 Kg.. What amount should I feed him? Angus

Ideal weight for an adult German Spitz Mittel is approximately 11-13kg, so it looks like Paddy is ok! I would recommend to keep him on the same quantity suggested by your veterinarian.
