My kitten's feline herpes isn't getting better. What should I do?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 1lb

My kitten has feline herpes and it isn't going away. I clean him multiple times a day to get rid of the stuck on residue in his eye nose and mouth. I have a vet appointment next week but I don't think they're helpful as all they say is to keep cleaning him. His brother was put down for similar symptoms and now my cat is losing energy and I'm just really worried.

If your vets told you that all needs to be done is to clean it then you should switch to a different vet and take Soot to a new one as early as tomorrow. he will need oral antibiotics and antibiotic eye ointment in order to heal from this condition, and it is urgent.
