My older dog won't accept our new puppy. Will they ever get along?

Pet's info: Dog | Pekingese | Female | unspayed | 5 lbs

Hey, Yesterday we bought a new Pekingese called Lulu, she's 7 months old. We currently have a 1 year old male Pekingese. He seems to really dislike her, won't go near her and if I'm patting him and she comes over he avoids her. I'm showing him lots of attention still but he really seems to not like her. Will they ever get along? And is there anything to help them? I've tried taking them to the park to play but he still won't go near her.

Not all dogs will like another dog. It is kind of like getting a random college roommate. Sometimes you are best friends for life and sometimes you can't wait to move out! I would recommend that you give them time to get to know each other. Continue to monitor them for signs of aggression or fighting. If your male just seems ambivalent to Lulu, that is ok. They may not want to play or snuggle together, but hopefully they can live peacefully in the same house.
