My dog has an allergic reaction to fire ants, can I give Benadryl?

My dog is vomiting and acting really weak I think he might have gotten bitten by fire ants would it be okay to give him Benadryl. Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua | Male | unneutered | 1 year and 9 months old | 7 lbs

Hello and thank you for your post! Looking at your photos, the first picture is the one I am concerned about the most. It is always difficult to tell from the pictures 100% what is going on but Krunch's face and muzzle sure look swollen! I would seek veterinary care as so o as possible in case he is having a severe allergic reaction. Fire ants can certainly trigger an allergic reaction. I would go ahead and give him 1/4 tablet of Benadyl 25mg and get him to your vet for further treatmemt. If left untreated, allergic reactions can turn into anaphylaxis and can be fatal. I hope Krunch gets better!
