My dog is inactive and not drinking in a hot house. Is he okay?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Male | unneutered | 5 months and 7 days old | 10 lbs

My central air unit quit working this morning, and it's a hot summer day. It's about mid 80's in my home consistently. I figured this was to hot for my dog, but he seems to handle it fine. He doesn't show any symptoms of heat stroke, but he's not active, and won't drink much water. Today was actually the first day, he told me that he had to go outside to potty. In this case I don't think anything is seriously wrong wince he was able to do this. Just curious why he's being odd; not being a puppy.

Dogs can handle the heat fine if they are lazy and not expending much energy. You can give him cool water with a small amount of chicken broth in it to encourage drinking, or add some water to his food. Using a fan to circulate the air may cool you both. Take him for a slow walk tonight after it cools down. It doesn't sound like there is anything wrong, he'll probably perk up when it cools down.
