Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Male | unneutered | 2 months and 12 days old | 2 lbs
I have a new kitten and have been reading up on FeLV tests. Is it true that the tests don't show accurate negative results until the kitten is 6 months of age? He is currently 2 months old and isolated from my other cat. I feel terrible thinking he will have to stay isolated for 4 more months until officially test cleared of FeLV.

Most tests are fairly accurate if the results are negative. However there can be false positive test results if done early in age due to antibodies from the mother. I would recommend a vet visit and discuss your concerns with Cagney's vet. But many times it is worth testing earlier and start vaccines. If the test is positive then further testing or quarentine may be required but if negative he may be able to be intetgrated into the rest of the household.
