I've noticed some hair in my dogs poo, he does shed quite a lot and I try to get the hair out of the carpet the best I can, he usually licks the carpet sometimes (I try and stop him) so I'm guessing this is where he's picking the hair up from. What should I do and will it harm him?

Luckily for Ziggy dogs do not usually suffer from problems with hairballs like cats do. Since Ziggy is passing the hair it should not cause him any problems. If you notice that Ziggy becomes constipated or starts vomiting then I would be concerned. Some things you can do to help cut down on the shedding are to brush him regularly (2x a day), vacuum/sweep up the hair that falls off daily, add a fish oil supplementation to his diet to help with his skin and coat health and you may want to consider having him groomed/trimmed. It would also be a good idea to discourage him from licking the carpet excessively. If you notice that Ziggy licks/chews himself excessively he may have an allergy or flea issue. If this is the case I would recommend having him checked out by your vet because he may have a skin infection. I hope this helps. Best of luck!
