My cat has a red, swollen part coming out when he poops. What is it?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Russian Blue | Male | neutered | 11 months and 1 day old | 9.25 lbs

My male cats but looks perfectly normals when he's just roaming around and going about his day but when he goes to do his poop a bright red and slightly swollen part comes out. Any ideas on what this is or what could be causing this? Thanks in advance for any answers!!

Hi and thanks for using Pet Coach! It looks like the internal rectal tissue is pushing out while he poops. If there is no blood in the stool and he doesn't seem painful, I wouldn't worry about it. Good luck and kisses to Prince!
