Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | 12 years and 8 months old
My 12 year old neutered, indoor cat seems to be in good health. He is playful, but does sleep a bit more as he is getting older. He likes to lick windows and glass sliding doors a lot! I am always washing the windows using a home remedy of a water/alcohol/vinegar solution.... any clues as to why he does this? He seems happy, purrs a lot and gets yearly shots, check-ups at the vet. Thank you for any information you can give me on his new "habit" .

What Mickey is doing is not uncommon at all. I actually have a similar issue with my kitty but she prefers to lick my sofa. Unfortunately, most of the time you never find out the exact cause or trigger. Some kitties develop compulsive behaviors which sometimes require medications that your veterinarian could prescribe. You could try that though it would somewhat change Mickey's typical demeanor. Keep in mind that this is actually way more common than you think. Best of luck!
