Why does my Indian Ringneck bow its head and purr? Is it happy or sad?

I have a 9 months old indian ring neck ..I have noticed he goes to the bottom of cage and bows his head down .. Does that mean he is sad? And when I cuddle with him he makes a sound like purr .. Does that mean he is happy? Thank you. Pet's info: Bird | Unknown - Bird | Male

He may be doing this for attention. If he is used to having you rub his head, he may be asking for head rubs by "bowing". The purring is a sound of contentment. He sounds like quite a lovable little guy! :-)
