My new rescue dog has worms. Is my other dog at risk of infection?

Pet's info: Dog | Whippet | Male | neutered | 24 lbs

I currently have an almost 3 y/o greyhound, sherlock.I adopteda whippet mix from whs, but he has worms. he has been treated for 2 types but they gave me panacur for the next 3 months. am I putting my greyhound at risk by bringing jasper home with us?

Sherlock would certainly be at a higher risk as most of the intestinal parasites are usually transmitted via contaminated soil or by ingesting feces or contaminated food or water. I would recommend that you pick up Jasper's feces and anything that has contact with it as soon as possible and you are likely ok. Jasper is likely to be parasite free soon.     Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I understand your concern! Most intestinal parasites are transmitted fecal-oral. Meaning Sherlock would have to ingest contaminated poop. Some parasites can live in the soil a long time, so I recommend immediately picking up and disposing of Jasper's stool. I think if Sherlock isn't a stool eater then you are find bringing Jasper in to your home. Good luck!
