My dog's elbow surgery stitches broke. What should the vet do?

Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Male | 1 year and 2 months old | 32 lbs

My doghad elbow operation 8 days ago. Now before 2 days his sutures got broked.. And wound is open..there is no skin left to suture.. what should be done to his wound if i take him to vet.

The wound should be surgically cleaned and the ends sutured to reduce the gap. The centre of the wound will likely be left to heal itself, your vet may wish to apply sterile medical grade honey and a wound dressing or may prefer to leave open to the air depending on if any bone/ligament is exposed and the risk of localised infection

    The only thing that can be done is topical treatment and bandages, for these type of cases i usually used Green clay but most vets are not familiar with it so good alternative is Manuka honey bandages, it's quite messy and needs to be changed twice a day but it works well.
