We rescued a small puppy.he seems to be doing good..eating good..chewing fingers..anything...but we don't know his age.he has diarrhea off and on...can I try to give his first shot, a vet said he would guess pup to be between 4 and 6 weeks old

Great question! If the puppy is between four to six weeks of age, that's still too young for him to get his vaccines. He should be between six to eight weeks of age before he gets his vaccines. I would take him into the vet in two to three weeks to get the vaccines done. As for the diarrhea, he could have intestinal worms causing it, which is common in young puppies. He will need a deworming treatment for it. I recommend Panacur, it's a three day course of treatment you can get OTC at a pet store or your vet's office. He will need a second course of it two weeks after the first to kill all the worms. He should be dewormed every month after that until he is six months old, and then should be dewormed every three months thereafter. I hope this helps!
