My new Rottweiler puppy is growling. Is this normal or concerning?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Rottweiler | Male | 1 month and 17 days old | 9.9 lbs

We have a 47 days male Rottweiler puppy. He is at our place from the past 7 days. At the start he had a pretty good behaviour he used to but a little bit though, But from the past 2 days he is growing at us from every small things. And do not understand whether this behaviour is normal or should I need to worry about this. Thanks in advance.

Brutus is probably still getting used to his new surroundings and is testing the new boundaries. I would strongly recommend getting this behavior under control as soon as possible so it does not lead to more aggression in the future. You need to start training him with basic commands like sit/stay/come. This will help define your relationship with him and help him understand that you are in charge. It is also important to exercise him frequently to help drain some of his excess energy. When he is acting aggressive it is best to ignore the behavior (as opposed to scolding him for it). If you are still having issues with his aggression after a few weeks I would strongly recommend seeking the help of a behavioral expert. The older and larger Brutus is, the harder it will be to change his behavior. I am sure with effort on your end Brutus will be a great dog. Best of luck.
